What's up?
And so three months has gone by... Not a word more from me here... Or else where... This last month had been uneventful (wonder which months were not) for me, but the 5 conferences and the time spent seeking God the day I turned the big 3, had indeed brought insights, warnings and actions to take into my perview.
With that said, I will most likely be starting a more regular private blog... Email me if you really want to know what's happening in my life and what I am thinking about.
And now for my last word here (though I still thinking to post announcements here on and off)... My wife and I went to our Gynae today... The baby that's coming in December is a Boy! ^_^
Your Word, my word
(This is something I posted this morning somewhere else.)
After the class for Seekers and New Christians in BC Youth and the Second Worship Service, I was thinking (even harder during SSS as I observed a combine class) about the importance of God's word in our life. I was also praying along the line "Dear LORD, is it Your Word or my word that guides my life daily..."
I don't know about you, but it's definitely challenging for me to live by God's Word daily, there are temptations abound and many atimes, it just seems to tough to walk the talk. When was the last time you read the bible? When was the last time you pray to God? When was the last time you really enjoyed the "fei-lou"-ship (Fellowship:Fatty-ship:Eating and bonding) as a family in Christ? When was the last time you really exercise your trust (faith giving of time, money and personal testimony) in Christ?
If your answers to my four main questions was long long time ago... Don't despair. There is still hope. Let's remember to put on the Armour of God daily, support and spur one another onwards. Easier said than done? Not really, if we are willing, we can commit this to the LORD and He will help us work a way out of any sticky or challenging circumstances.
For one, those who are in a S4G and/or Ministy Team, you can take active step(s) to be accountable to your S4G and/or Ministry Team leaders about your walk with God. If you're not in any S4G or Ministry Team, you can approach your SSS Teachers, and I'm sure they are more than willing to come alongside you as you walk this faith journey. Well, if you find the courage to approach your teachers, there is still me. Feel free to drop me a mail, sms or whatever and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
The prophet Jeremiah prayed, "Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart" (Jer. 15:16). It is my prayer that we will hunger and thirst for God's Word and His nourishing of our souls. Let it be Your Word and not my word that takes center stage in our lives.
Hmm...
Hi there... It's been awhile... Finally found out how to get into this account. XD
For those who haven't been in contact, after my marriage to Anna in August 2006, I've gotten a new addition to the family late May 2007. She's named Dora Tay. ^_^
Anyway... Hope I'll be able to find time to update this blog now that I can get back into it...
Hear ye! Hear ye!!!
Hear ye! Hear ye!!! An announcement from the busy / lazy Daniel.
I am now officially married, was busy with my wedding preparation and ministry that I haven’t been blogging at all. :P Anyway, photos taken by my elder brother for my wedding and rehearsal can be seen on my http://rob2dan.spaces.live.com/
Apology
An apology is a friendship preserver,is often a debt of honour,is never a sign of weakness,is an antidote for hatred, costs nothing but one’s pride, always saves more than it costsand is a device needed in every home.
Help Me!!!
I’ve not been writing anything for this blog for sometime now due to my busyness and tiredness. Partly from the strain of getting into the full role and responsibility with full-time ministry, partly from my almost "drying up" of the intake from the fountain of life.
I’ve been following a series of devotional and there are some prayers that came with it that depicts my current situation. I’ve rearranged it into one long prayer that I’ve made to God.
Heavenly Father,
I feel like weeping too when I consider how little of my life I streamlined for kingdom purpose. Help me to be willing to be hitched to a plough and know the joy of sacrifice
It is your purposes I want to achieve, not my own. Whenever my own self-centered plans are crossed, help me to discover Your better plans.
You who knew what it was to wince when wounded, help me remember that Your wounds can heal my wounds. Grant also that my wounds might heal someone else’s wounds. May my hurts be healing.
Help me identify the tension points in my life and be willing to surrender them. May I let go of them all.
When some earthly goods is taken away and I am left feeling bereft, help me to see the hidden ‘better’. Fortify my soul with this expectation I pray.
How I need to be reminded of this – that life is designed to be lived a day at a time. Help me understand the deep import of all this.
Help me understand that no failure is a failure if it succeeds in driving me to God’s side. All things serve me – when I serve You.
Help me to face my failure in the knowledge that some good can be wrested from even the most depressing circumstances. Help me to be incisive in my question and to expect from You incisive answers.
Help me to link my littleness to Your greatness, my faintheartedness to Your boldness, my fear to Your faithflness. Then nothing can stop me. In that frame of mind I will pick myself up and try again.
Help me this day and everyday of my life from now on to make generosity the basis of all my dealings with people. Make me the channel and not the dead end of all Your generosity to me.
In Jesus’ Holy, Precious and Wonderful name.
AMEN!

Beyond Ourselves, Beyond Our Shores
This was Mt Carmel BPC's 2nd Mission Conference Theme Song.It caught my heart this morning when we sung it during our Mission Sunday.Lyrics was by Rev David Wong and Music by Tony Wong.God has blessed our little island.
Beyond our wildest dreams.
What was once a fishing village.
Is a city, and it seems.
Like a miracle, we’re growing.
And reaching for the skies.
While across the oceans around us.
The new horizons rise.
Chorus:
We must look—beyond ourselves.
See the wide—open doors.
Lift our eyes—to the harvest.
We must go beyond our shores!
Jesus, Lord of all the nations.
All power’s in His hand.
Gives us all a Great Commission.
To go to every land.
If we call Him Lord and Master.
How can we not obey?
If we say we love Him from our earts.
Why do we still delay?
Chorus:
We must look—beyond ourselves.
See the wide—open doors.
Lift our eyes—to the harvest.
We must go beyond our shores!
See around the souls are dying.
No one to tell them so.
Can you hear their voices crying.
In pain from hell below?
Holy Spirit, touch and fill me.
My life is yours to use.
By Your power, take and mould me.
And send me where you choose.
Chorus:
We must look—beyond ourselves.
See the wide—open doors.
Lift our eyes—to the harvest.
We must go beyond our shores!
God has blessed our land with plenty.
Where peace and quiet lies.
In the wide open spaces.
The seas, the sunny skies.
We behold creation’s beauty.
Abundance and His care.
Now to us so much is given.
It’s time to give and share.
Chorus:
We must look—beyond ourselves.
See the wide—open doors.
Lift our eyes—to the harvest.
We must go beyond our shores!

Rush rushes Us
Rush, rush, rush! These last three days have been mad for me. I attended SBC Founder’s Day morning chapel on Thursday 25/08/05 and FES(CW) 35th Anniversary yesterday night. Also I started bible study on Biblical Truths with Lawrence and Eddie (but he went on MC) using the book, “Ten Things a Christian should know” by Huang Sibian. I also had lunch meetings with a few of my youth leaders from Hebron.Though, I of sort of rushing from one thing to another, I was resting and learning from God’s word from the sharing @ chapel, the bible study and even during the meetings... Thanks to the food, there’s rest for me. >_<At the morning chapel, I was ministered to by the songs, especially the refrain sung during the Anniversary Cake Cutting Ceremony. “Great is Thy faithfulness (2X)Morning by morning new mercies I see,All I have needed Thy hand hath provided,Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!”Most of you who knows me, knows that I’ve finally started my full-time service with Hebron. And some of you who knows me, knows that I am in the process of setting the direction of Hebron Youth Spectra for the years to come. And that I’m in the process of talking to people, getting their feel of the ministry, challenging them to commit to participating in the ministry, etc. This refrain encourages me to press forth, in what I’m currently doing, and also for the things I’m planning to do.His faithfulness is great, because morning after morning, I’ll get to see His providence with new mercies from Him.Then the theme for this 35th Anniversary “Responding to Changes with No Change”(以不变应万变) reminded me that the ever changing reality is that change never changes. It’s how we perceive and understand change that is changing. hmm… Think I’m losing myself here… Anyway, after the “Presentation”, one of the responder said, “In this time and age, we need to be reaching the people via the internet. There are millions of opportunities for all the students and alumnus in this medium.” Kudos, ain’t some of us already at it… Well, it was a timely reminder that a bit more emphasis can be channeled to those on the web.
Photo of all SP Alumni that attended this FES(CW) 35th Anniversary.

And of course the bible study… Though, there was three of us (Lawerence, Qiu Ling and I), we couldn’t finish lesson one. Haha, but we spent a huge chunk of time discussing what is worship about and why we need to have it, and so on. Anyway, I’m once again reminded that it is the one and only God that we’re to worship. In the bible it says, “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” This to me is supposed to be our response to God in our worship.
As we rush about doing things that needs to be done, it actually rushes us about, commanding us to do this and that. Rush rushes us, but God says in His Word, “Be still and know that I am God.” Let take heed of what He says to us and set apart time, so that we can be still before Him. As we come into His presence, let us come with the sense of reverence and awe, that we can love Him with all our heart, soul and strength, knowing that we love because He first love us.
Dangerous Hot Spots
Tsk, tsk… In today’s tnp (too bad not on the electronic 1), it’s reported that there’s a record high of 414 cases of dengue. Check out the hot spots at MOH’s or NEA’s websites. To think that 6 Raffles students were warded because of dengue. Tsk, tsk…Well, at least I’m getting better from the attacks of Unpredictable Weather and Poor Air Quality. The effects of irritable throat, running nose and so on is finally subsiding… I really wonder why every time when it reaches this time of the year, these effects will come back.Is it because of all the burning in Indonesia … and Malaysia, etc? Or is it because of the burning of incense papers by people who are afraid of Hungry Ghost? Don’t know why all these people like to burn their stuffs all over the place…Hmm… Come to think of it, I wonder which is more Dangerous? Dengue from those pesky mosquitoes or all that burning whether in S’pore or our neighbours? Or is it because of all these erring and irresponsible people.I wonder…
